Head of Accounting (m/w/d)

Our client, Yepoda , a Berlin-based K-Beauty start-up, is seeking a Head of Accounting to join their innovative team!

We are a beauty start-up founded in 2020 and located in the heart of Berlin. Our team is comprised of over 80 brilliant human beings who came from all over the world to write Yepoda’s story actively.

Your Tasks

As the Head of Accounting, your responsibilities will include:

Financial Management:

1. Oversee the company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
2. Manage the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
3. Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets for management and external stakeholders.
4. Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors for annual audits and tax filings.

Compliance and Reporting:

1. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations.
2. Prepare and submit regular financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
3. Coordinate with external parties, such as banks and regulatory authorities, for financial matters.

Strategic Planning:

1. Contribute to the development of financial strategies and long-term financial planning.
2. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making by senior management.

Your Profile

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A recognized accounting qualification, such as Bilanzbuchhalter/in , Wirtschaftsprüfer/in , Steuerberater/in , or an internationally recognized qualification like CPA or ACCA .
3. Experience working in one of the larger accounting firms is required.
4. 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance roles; experience in e-commerce is a plus.
5. Strong knowledge of HGB (German Commercial Code) and familiarity with IFRS .
6. Knowledge of DATEV and German accounting standards is required.
7. Proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools.
8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
