Head of Valuations – Zurich

I am currently partnering with a Global Conglomerate in the Financial Services space. Who are looking to build a new department and hire a Head of Valuations.

You will sit with their Global Risk Leadership team, where you will be responsible for leading and overseeing their Valuation function.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop Valuations function and eventually manage a team as the function matures
• Develop valuation practices, including compliance with relevant accounting standards; establishing relevant quantitative thresholds across trading portfolios, complementary breach procedures and adjustments cycles that are relevant to reporting periods
• Contribute to the New Business approval process across valuations. Defining the procedures for the initial pricing, valuation adjustments, observability and reliability of inputs
• Develop the suite of valuation reporting for relevant stakeholders and committees
• Represent the function within broader strategic initiatives to ensure valuation requirements are represented and appropriately prioritized
• Balance stakeholder needs and expectations and develop a culture of cross-departmental collaboration

Key Skills and Education

• 10 -15 years’ experience in valuation control or a related function within trading
• Extensive experience in valuations, product control or a related field, with a proven track record in an influential leadership role
• Strong understanding of financial instruments and complex trading strategies
• Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations
