Your responsibilities

• You will develop a deep understanding of Uniper’s business, its value drivers, and the business environment including safety behaviours and processes

• You will learn from and collaborate with experts from many different fields, contribute your ideas and work on your own projects with various stakeholders

• You will start in the Site Transformation Department within New Green Power & Gas and rotate flexibly upon your individual career development path after your first six months

• In Site Transformation, you will show your technical and operational expertise as well as your entrepreneurial thinking and project management skills

• You will contribute to Uniper’s development activities, including greenfield and brownfield projects to make Uniper’s strategic growth ambitions reality by either

• Supporting coordination site (re-)development and transformation activities for Uniper sites in Germany (Scholven, Wilhelmshaven or Staudinger) to enable Uniper’s strategic growth projects ("Energy Transformation Hubs") or

• Supporting demolition projects of fossil generation assets to create physical space for new growth projects

You will support interfaces to local/national authorities and governing bodies to protect Uniper’s interest with regards to development options

You will establish lasting relationships with all internal and external stakeholders in Uniper’s core markets and interact with the central functions, site transformation and integration teams and the power plant team

You will prepare regular reporting on the status of projects under development

You will support coordination and preparation of internal decision papers (Strategic Decisions/Financial Decisions) and aligning within the organization

Your profile

• Successfully completed studies with a focus on (industrial) engineering, business administration or economics
• Ideally first relevant practical experience gained through internships and/or working student activities
• Curiosity and openness to working in an international environment
• Intercultural and collaborative experience is crucial, experience abroad a plus
• Sense of responsibility, proactivity and advanced interpersonal communication skills as well as a drive for continuous improvement with a hands-on mentality
• Interest and pleasure of being part of a pragmatic and dynamic working environment between the headquarters and local activities at power plant sites
• Due to the on-site activities in either Scholven, Wilhelmshaven, or Staudinger, the willingness to accept mobility opportunities is required
• Fluency of written and spoken English and German are required

During your 18- or 24-month traineeship at Uniper, you will get to know various divisions and gain valuable experience for your future. In addition to some predefined stations, you can flexibly combine other departments that you would like to pass through and work in an international environment with team members from over 80 countries. In coordination with your team and the requirements of your tasks, you can choose how, when and where you want to work.
Based in Germany, the program gives you a deep insight into our day-to-day business and helps you to explore your personal strengths. You will also have the opportunity to bring in and enhance your interpersonal and teamwork skills. Individual mentoring and a buddy from day one will ensure you have the best possible foundation for the next step in your career at Uniper. We are fortunate that, on average, more than 95 % of all trainees remain with our team after their program and take on an appropriate follow-up position.
