From our technology center located in Krefeld, we support our global production facilities in the manufacture of polycarbonate compounds. Our tasks include supporting production facilities, process and plant optimization, scale-up of new products, troubleshooting, as well as leading and accompanying investment and development projects.
As an intern (m/f/d) in the Compounding Technology area, you will support Covestro in our technical centre to drive the development of new technologies.
After your initial training, you will support the department with the following tasks:
- As part of our team, you will support us at the site in developing new technologies
- You will have the opportunity to work on a project in the technical center
- In particular, you will support our team in an ongoing project on inline process control using UV-Vis spectroscopy
- You will assist in the evaluation of spectroscopic data
- You will work on developing correlations between the spectroscopic and process parameters as well as the physical and chemical properties of the manufactured products
- Documenting your results as well as presenting them to colleagues will be part of your responsibilities
Your Profile:
- Enrolled in a university degree program with a student ID in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a comparable field of study
- You have already successfully completed relevant basic lectures such as Thermodynamics, Mathematics/Statistics, and Physics
- You have gained initial experience with common software programs for data processing and visualization, such as Excel, MathCad or Minitab, and ideally have programming skills, e.g. with Python
- Initial experience and expertise in data analysis or UV-Vis spectroscopy is desirable
- You bring passion and curiosity for process development and new technologies
- Good English and German skills, for exchange with our global production facilities, round out your profile
