WHAT WE OFFER

The CTO function at Covestro ensures smooth and safe operations at our international production sites. Additionally, it is responsible for the planning, construction, and further development of our production facilities. The Reaction Technology, Kinetics & Thermodynamics team focuses on analyzing reaction systems, up to the development and process design of reaction equipment. It supports Covestro in product and process development, as well as in the areas of plant construction and production. As part of projects, we offer committed students the opportunity to gain practical experience and apply their academic knowledge.

• As an intern (m/f/d) in the field of reaction technology, you will support our development of new production processes in line with sustainable circular economy by conducting laboratory experiments.
• We offer you the opportunity to work on exciting and future-oriented tasks in the areas of catalysis, polymer chemistry, and/or organic chemistry, with a focus on stirring and mixing technology.
• You will support our research activities in the field of isocyanates, polyethers, polyurethanes, and Covestro intermediates.
• Your responsibilities include commissioning laboratory facilities, planning and conducting chemical syntheses and reaction engineering experiments, as well as evaluating and interpreting obtained data and writing experiment reports.
• You will gain insights into the processes of industrial research and development and work in a multidisciplinary team.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• You are enrolled in a master’s program or an advanced bachelor’s program in the field of process engineering, chemical engineering, technical chemistry, or a related field of study.
• You possess solid expertise in your respective field of study, ideally with prior knowledge in the area of mixing and stirring.
• Basic knowledge of CFD and Python is desirable.
• Initial experience in the laboratory in the field of organic chemistry or technical chemistry is desirable.
• For your assignment at Covestro, you bring a high willingness to learn, a quick comprehension, and enjoyment of working in a team, motivation, and independence.
• You can apply your good German language skills in both spoken and written form.

The internship duration is 3 to, preferably, 6 months. Please also inform us of your possible start date and duration.
