Director, Trade Finance Product Manager, Supplier Finance and Receivables Purchase

Due to the strong growth of our Transaction Banking business in Europe, we are currently looking for a Director, Trade Finance Product Manager to join our Transaction Banking team in Frankfurt.

In this role you will be responsible for the Supply Chain Finance (including Receivables Purchase and Supplier Finance) end-to-end product objectives which will include execution, development, and governance of the Supply Chain Finance trade products in Standard Chartered Bank AG, our hub for the activities across Continental Europe.

You will act as a Subject Matter Expert and main point of contact for the Supply Chain Finance Trade business, for the transactions booked and clients based in Germany, France and Sweden.

• Drive strategy and vision for the Supply Chain Finance products for Standard Chartered Bank AG in line with Group strategy. Act as Product Owner of Supply Chain Finance product suite end to end.
• Provide business development and strategic direction across managed portfolio.
• Drive active engagement with Sales, Coverage and Structuring teams to ensure appropriate deal support.
• Support key RFP and critical deals for strategic clients and prospects; participate in sales campaign activities.
• Own product financials on a booked and origination basis, drive performance and utilisation across all relevant products in coordination with Sales teams.
• Execute and coordinate local deployment of global trade product functionalities coordinating with local and central teams.
• Ensure appropriate governance is in place for Trade Products handled locally and work with relevant stakeholders to ensure the relevant products comply with all process and policy guidelines.
• Drive governance discipline and ensure compliance with Product Programmes and adherence with local requirements.
• Monitor and manage risks arising from Supply Chain Finance trade products within owned portfolio (Operational, Credit, Regulatory, Financial Crime Compliance and Conduct).
• Provide regular training to Sales, Coverage and Operations to further strengthen Trade Product knowledge.
• Work closely with Technology and Channels team to realize the objective of Trade Digitisation.

Skills and Experience

• 10 years of experience in banking with relevant expertise with the Supply Chain Finance Products (Receivables Purchase, Supplier Finance and Distributor Finance) in regional or global Product Management roles.
• Active, demonstrable ownership & execution of end-to-end product life cycle activities.
• Ability to keep abreast on changes in the market, customer requirements, competitor response and the Banks ability to use information to identify new business opportunities.
• Depth of understanding of financial regulation impacting International Trade Business.
• Proven ability to commercialize regulatory requirements internally & towards clients in form of internal directions around operational / investment balances and positioning of same with clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence directly, indirectly and virtually across the SCB network.

Qualifications

• Exposure to Receivables Purchase, Supplier Finance and/or Distributor Finance.
• Working Knowledge of SWIFT, ICC Rules and other market leading fora such as IFC or BAFT.
• Fluency in English is mandatory, fluency in German is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of the local trade finance markets and regulatory landscape would be beneficial.
