Job description

You work on the evaluation of the flammability of battery vent gases during thermal runaway of lithium-ion batteries and contribute to the safety of battery systems

You further develop an existing tool for calculating the ignition delay time and laminar burning velocity in Python/Cantera
-
You evaluate the flammability of different exhaust gas compositions from measurements and literature
-
You carry out sensitivity analyses and derive recommendations for exhaust gas measurement

You document your progress and present it regularly in order to successively optimise your methodology

You are studying mechanical engineering, computational engineering science, chemistry (engineering), energy technology or similar

You are interested in numerical simulation methods

You have basic knowledge in chemical energy conversion and recognise the terms ignition delay time, laminar burning velocity and reaction mechanism

You have programming experience in Python

You are motivated to familiarise yourself with a complex topic and work independently, conscientiously and in a structured manner
