Senior Software/Hardware Field Applications Engineer
ABOUT QORVO
In this role, the Field Applications Engineer (FAE) will be responsible as the key technical contact for automotive customers using Qorvo Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology. The FAE will be involved in troubleshooting software and hardware issues with the customer as well as promoting Qorvo technology to prospective customers. The FAE should work closely with sales and marketing to align and identify strategic customers to support. They should also work closely with the development teams to resolve customer issues and share feedback on how the Qorvo solution can be improved or modified to better suit customer needs.

Responsibilities:
- Work with Tier 1 customers on software and hardware aspects of design
- Work closely with software development team to debug customer issues
- Support customers with system design validation and debug from prototype to successful mass production ramp.
- Review customer schematics and PCB layouts
- Reproduce and solve technical issues seen on customer platforms in the laboratory
- Work alongside sales and marketing teams to provide pre-design-in sales promotion support. Presenting UWB technology to customers, assessing customers technical requirements and proposing appropriate solutions to meet those requirements. Prior customer presentation skills and experience, using PowerPoint slides, in a similar context, a plus.
- Liaise between Qorvo UWB Corporate Teams and customer from concept to mass production
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient in C/C++
- Experience working on microcontroller-based systems (ARM, RISC, etc)
- Intimate knowledge of RTOS
- Familiar with intimate details of at least one wireless protocol (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular etc)
- Knowledge of serial protocols (SPI, UART, I2C, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving approach and a strong desire to the see the customer succeed
- Experience working with customers and/or strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work on own initiative to come with up with innovative solutions. English proficiency required
- Ability to plan and deliver to tight schedules and be self-motivated
- Some international travel can be expected
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (BENEFIT)
- Experience with FreeRTOS
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR
- Experience in other programming languages such as python
- Experience working with UWB
- Knowledge of evaluation RF performance
- Understanding of automotive customers, systems and design cycles
- Familiarity with lab equipment (Spectrum Analysers, Network Analysers, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analysers, Multimeters and Power Supplies)
- Experience working with high volume customers leading to successful production ramp
- Fluent French or German is a plus
