Our client, a corporate venture capital firm within the TMT Sector, is looking for an Analyst to join their German team. The team manages the investment cycle from origination to closing and the relationship beyond. As a member of their investment team, you will work closely with experienced venture capitalists and other professionals to identify strategic ecosystem opportunities and evaluate potential investments in innovative startups and new technologies. You will have the opportunity to learn from and contribute to the team’s collective knowledge and expertise, and to participate in all aspects of the investment process.
What the job involves
- Evaluate potential investments in innovative start-ups and new technologies using financial models and market research
- Identify strategic ecosystem priorities in collaboration with the corporate business units
- Foster relationships with strategic business leaders, entrepreneurs, and other industry professionals
- Execute all stages of deal execution, including sourcing new investment opportunities, preparing investment proposals, and conducting due diligence
- Work with portfolio companies to drive their success and identify new deals
- Interpret financial statements and use them to make predictions about the viability and growth potential of new investments
Who we are looking for
- University degree in relevant fields such as business or computer science
- Initial experience, ideally at a venture capital firm, banking, management consulting, or a start-up environment
- Strong grasp of technology and market trends, with a preference for knowledge in telecommunications and IT sectors
- Comfort with ambiguity and risk
- Proficient in financial analysis and modelling techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional drive, self-motivation and high team collaboration skills
- Fluency in German and English
