Head of Export Control (m/f/d)

About the Role:

My client, a leader in the machinery manufacturing industry, is seeking a skilled Head of Export Control to oversee and streamline export and customs operations. This role combines leadership, compliance, and process optimization to ensure adherence to international trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the Export and Customs Control team both technically and disciplinarily.
• Serve as the Customs and Export Control Officer , implementing BAFA requirements for the ICP.
• Liaise with authorities, including customs and BAFA, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Oversee tariffing, classification, export licensing, and customs authorizations.
• Develop and improve processes in customs clearance and export control.
• Provide training and guidance on customs and export control standards.

Profile:

• A degree or training in commerce with technical expertise, or in engineering with commercial experience.
• Extensive experience in customs clearance and export control , with management experience preferred.
• Expertise in customs and foreign trade law (Germany, EU, US).
• Proficiency in SAP , ATLAS, ELAN K2, and other relevant systems.
• Fluency in German and strong English skills.
• A hands-on, results-driven approach with a focus on compliance and efficiency.
