We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Consultant to join our client\’s team for a critical migration programme. The successful candidate will be an expert in network infrastructure, particularly in Routing & Switching, and will have hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper technologies.

This is a contract position requiring occasional on-site presence in Berlin or Leipzig, with the flexibility to work remotely for the majority of the contract period.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and execute network migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
2. Design, implement, and manage complex routing and switching environments.
3. Configure and optimize network equipment, including Cisco ASR, Catalyst, and Nexus series.
4. Manage Juniper EX/MX series switches and routers.
5. Implement and maintain firewall solutions to ensure network security.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network solutions with business requirements.
8. Document network configurations, changes, and processes for future reference.

Technical Expertise:

1. Routing & Switching: Expert knowledge of Cisco ASR, Catalyst, and Nexus; Juniper EX/MX.
2. Firewalls: Proven experience in configuring and managing firewall solutions.
3. Protocols: In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, Layer 2, and Layer 3 protocols.

Requirements:

1. Extensive experience in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
5. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE) are highly desirable.

Contract Details:

1. Start Date: ASAP
2. Duration: 6 Months
3. Location: 2/3 days per month in Berlin or Leipzig; remainder remote
4. Day Rate: €500PD – €575PD
