We are seeking a Director Global Finance and Accounting (f/m/x) to lead financial operations and drive transformation. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will ensure accurate global financial reporting, implement robust control frameworks, and guide key financial strategies. In this role, you will work closely with our own Shared Service Center based in Slovakia, which handles accounts payable and receivable, ensuring seamless collaboration, while the general ledger accounting is managed on-site in Berlin. This position involves collaborating with senior management, addressing complex financial challenges, and driving initiatives that enhance performance and support business growth. What you will do:
- Develop and implement a robust financial strategy aligned with the company\’s overall business objectives
- Oversee the consolidation and reporting of financial results for multiple entities across different jurisdictions
- Supervise the management of global cash flow, foreign exchange, and banking relationships as well as cash reporting requirements together with our Treasury Management
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations together with our Head of Tax
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including operational, compliance, and reputational risks
- Direct the optimization of financial systems (e.g. LucaNet, SAP) and processes
- Build and develop a high-performing finance team across multiple locations
- Collaborate closely with the executive team and other business units to provide strategic financial advice and support
- Drive global finance transformation, enhance intercompany services, and provide actionable financial insights to improve decision-making
- Manage relationships with financial investors and fulfill their reporting requirements
- Lead projects in the Finance department such as CSRD
What we are looking for:
- 10+ years’ experience of working in a senior finance role within an international company, ideally in an eCommerce or technology industry
- Proven track record in leading and transforming finance organizations
- Deep understanding of international accounting standards (IFRS, HGB)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Lucanet) and financial planning tools (e.g. PowerBI)
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively and establish strong working relationships across all levels as well as with external advisors
- Willingness to engage actively in project implementation and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Fluency in English & German
