Job Description Summary

We’re on the lookout for an Engineering Student who’s keen to be part of our technical training team, focusing on additive manufacturing technologies. If you’re passionate about engineering and eager to learn about the latest in Direct Metal Laser Melting (DMLM) and Electron Beam Melting (EBM) systems, this is your chance!

You’ll play a key role in creating and refining tools and methodologies for data management, including extraction, cleaning, and analysis. Plus, you’ll use your skills in statistics to help predict handling vs. quality issues in services cases and associated costs. Your work will not only be crucial for our team but will also catch the eye of Senior Leadership, helping to steer our company’s future direction. This is a fantastic opportunity to dive deep into the world of additive manufacturing and make a real impact!

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather a detailed database of service incidents from around the globe, with a specific focus on machine breakdowns.
  • Develop a methodology for data analysis. This includes establishing specific criteria to differentiate between causes related to machine handling and those due to underlying quality issues in cases of machine breakdowns.
  • Investigate primary subsystem failures linked to machine handling, and evaluate the potential for operational cost savings through the implementation of advanced operator training programs.
  • Document all your findings, the analysis you’ve conducted, and your recommendations in a comprehensive report.
  • Present your findings and suggestions for improvements to decision-makers.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in Physics / Engineering / Applied Mathematics / Data Science & Analytics (or related fields)
  • Understanding of basic statistic concepts and tools
  • Written and oral communication skills in English and German (B2/C1)

Desired characteristics:

  • Skilled in the use of software for data management (extraction, storage, cleansing, processing, and plotting)
  • Ability to quickly grasp analytical concepts and are eager to engage with complex subjects
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
  • Presentation Skills: ability to communicate with stakeholders and senior leadership
