About the Role
A leading infrastructure investment team is seeking an Investment Manager to focus on asset management and value creation for a strategic minority stake in a German regulated power utilities company, as well as investments in other infrastructure assets. The role involves financial modeling, asset management, fundraising, investor relations, and cross-functional coordination within the fund structure. Additionally, the position offers exposure to M&A processes and involvement in a growing infrastructure investment platform.
About the Team
The infrastructure investment team advises multiple infrastructure funds, managing over EUR 11bn in assets. Since its establishment in 2013, the team has executed more than 60 direct infrastructure investments, primarily in private equity infrastructure assets across Europe and North America, targeting the upper mid-cap to lower large-cap market segments. The team is composed of professionals from diverse backgrounds, including private equity, M&A, strategy consulting, and engineering. The dedicated infrastructure private equity unit consists of over 60 investment professionals and operates from Zurich, a key financial hub.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance asset management models for infrastructure investments.
- Analyze financial and operational performance to identify risks and opportunities.
- Support strategic decision-making through quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Support and coordinate fundraising efforts for infrastructure funds.
- Prepare investment materials, including pitch decks, financial presentations, and market analyses.
- Engage with potential investors and assist in due diligence processes.
Infrastructure Investments
- Participate in investment teams for screening, analyzing, valuing, and conducting due diligence on infrastructure private equity opportunities in Europe and North America.
- Develop financial models to assess investment opportunities.
- Draft investment memos and presentations, and present findings in investment committee meetings.
Investor Relations & Reporting
- Develop investor reports and presentations for quarterly and annual updates.
- Serve as a point of contact for existing investors, addressing inquiries and preparing tailored insights.
- Collaborate with investor relations teams to ensure consistent communication.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Work with Luxembourg-based teams in fund management, tax, controlling, reporting, and investor communication.
- Ensure compliance with fund structuring, tax, and regulatory considerations by coordinating with internal specialists.
- Oversee workstreams across legal, operational, and financial teams.
- Engage with partner investors, board members, company management, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in infrastructure investment, asset management, private equity, or investment banking (energy or utilities sector preferred).
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, particularly in regulated infrastructure assets.
- Experience in fundraising, investor relations, and investment material preparation.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate complex workstreams.
- Strong motivation to contribute to challenges related to the energy transition in Europe.
- Fluent in English and German.
