Tasks inspiring you
As a member of our cross-location DBA team, you will work on the database platform for our high-availability software solutions. Your tasks will include analysing and specifying the requirements of our national and international customers, as well as evaluating and developing corresponding database concepts through to implementation and testing. You will also be responsible for maintaining and documenting the databases and supporting our sales engineers in the preparation of quotations.
This includes:
- Administering and optimising Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
- Implementing and operating replication solutions (especially streaming replication and Patroni)
- Ensuring high availability and performance of database systems
- Troubleshooting and resolving database issues
- Automating administrative tasks using scripting languages (e.g. Python)
- Working with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to improve database architecture
- Performing backups and recovery procedures
- Creating and maintaining documentation and concepts
- Supporting software development with table designs and SQL performance tuning
Qualifications that inspire us
- Completed apprenticeship as an IT specialist or university degree (computer science, engineering or natural sciences) or comparable qualification
- Sound experience in the administration of Oracle and/or PostgreSQL databases
- Very good knowledge of configuration and operation of replication solutions (especially streaming replication and Patroni)
- Very good knowledge and practical experience of Linux (SLES) and Windows operating systems
- Desirable:
- Experience in process automation, preferably with Python
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible
