Press Officer

We are expanding our team and are seeking an additional team member for the press department at the Israeli embassy!

We are looking for a creative team player, who is passionate about journalism and media and enthusiastic about working at the Israeli embassy in Berlin.

Our dynamic, challenging, and professional work environment provides the perfect platform for you to actively contribute to shaping how the State of Israel is portrayed in the German media.

Role and Responsibilities:

· Monitoring and analyzing news and media trends with a focus on Israel and Middle East related issues

· Shaping public messaging and providing real time advice, on a daily basis and during crisis

· Writing daily reports and presentations on key topics explaining current media trends and landscapes

· Preparing press releases

· Establishing and maintaining contact with journalists, opinion leaders and key media personalities

· Project management – journalist delegations, journalism academies, podcasts and more

· Setting up interviews with Israeli officials and experts

· Identifying and leveraging creative media ideas and opportunities

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree with background in Communications, International Relations or related field

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in journalism, press work, or public policy

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (German + English)

· Excellent communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills

· Knowledge and acquaintance with the State of Israel and the Jewish world

We require candidates to be willing and available to work during evenings and weekends as needed.
