The Section IT Business Solutions Finance delivers business value through the management of IT products including execution of change projects for all Finance departments of Munich Re’s Reinsurance Divisions worldwide.
To complement our team of recognized IT experts, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual. You will develop and grow our global application landscape together with the business in a highly changing IT landscape. You will deliver for our Reinsurance Accounting systems automated solutions in order to optimize, digitize and automate the accounting process landscape.
This position will be located in Munich.
Your Job
- Creating and defining conceptual architecture for
- Solution Architecture (Application Architecture, Data Architecture)
- Infrastructure Architecture (emphasis on Business and Application Architecture)
- Coordinate with the software development team in order to implement business requirements in close collaboration with business experts
- Feature definition and feature dependencies evaluation and presentation in an agile way of working mode
- Define, document, communicate and explain Target Solution Architecture and architecture goals to business as well as various other stakeholders and consulting during the development of product requirements
- Provide guidance during feature scoping and refinement and solution design
- Identify and initiate proof of concepts for new automation and AI solutions
- Modernizing existing solutions and convert technical prototypes into functional applications
- Technical Debt Management in terms of e.g. IT Security and regulatory compliance requirements
- Awareness and application of external policies and guidelines
- Resolve Security related questions with Security Architecture
- Joint effort to establish a compliance approved solutions
- Accountability for the development, testing and implementation of technology solutions, leveraging existing architectural patterns whenever possible, and reporting on delivery commitments to ensure solutions are implemented as expected and to agreed timeframes
- Defining and Enforcing Development principles and processes
- Moderate and resolve design conflicts with development process, trade off management – escalation instance
Your Profile
- University degree, preferably in Computer engineering / IT or similar qualification
- Several years of experience in software development as a developer and architect and hence in-depth knowledge of the processes of the entire software development and product life cycle
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills – experience in larger business application development projects as Architect or Lead Design Role.
- Track record of successful implementations of automation and digitization solutions that delivered value to the business
- Deep technical knowledge in Cloud Technologies, in particular based on Microsoft Azure and workflow solutions, ideally Appian
- Experience in large scale application and data architecture design and planning
- Domain driven concepts
- Architecture analysis and design techniques, modelling and documentation
- Thought leadership – able to monitor market trends and to drive creative thinking on future technology capabilities which will help increase the business value of Munich Re
- Consulting and collaborative working style and a will to participate in a culture of accountability and sharing
- A high degree of commitment and the willingness and ability to master the various tasks are essential
- Fluent spoken and written English and German
- Communication skills to translate and explain (verbal and written) architecture, trade off decisions; work organization etc. to various stakeholders with or without IT background
- Experienced in agile way of working perspective in a highly regulated IT environment – from an architects perspective
