About the Role:

A leading components manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and driven Operations Director to oversee its operations in Switzerland. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in manufacturing, specifically in the electronics/components industry, and a proven track record of operational excellence. This role involves managing both production and engineering teams, with a workforce of 80 employees. The individual will be responsible for overseeing operational and supply chain processes, driving continuous improvement, and leading a hands-on, high-performance team in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the site, ensuring optimal performance across both production and engineering functions.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor teams, providing clear direction and support to achieve operational and product goals.
  • Manage and enhance supply chain processes to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of materials and components.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring operational excellence while maintaining high standards in line with industry best practices.
  • Oversee purchasing activities, ensuring cost-effective procurement of materials while maintaining quality standards.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to support the launch of new components and ensure smooth transitions from development to production.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, including ISO 13485 and FDA regulations.
  • Implement and maintain high standards for quality management, safety, and regulatory compliance within the factory environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in an operations or site management role, ideally within the components or medical device industry.
  • Strong technical background, particularly in the manufacturing of components and product manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to drive operational excellence, manage cross-functional teams, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, FDA, and other relevant regulatory requirements for the components manufacturing sector.
  • A hands-on leadership style, with a strong ability to guide and coach teams to achieve business objectives.
