We are looking for a Senior Global HR Business Partner to join our Global HRLT and lead the HR strategy for our Implantology Business Unit (IBU) and Enterprise Solutions (ES) organizations. You will report to the Chief People Officer and have dotted lines into two Executive Management Board (EMB) members – Head of Enterprise Solutions and Head of IBU. You will be a trusted advisor and partner to the respective EMB members and their Leadership teams and drive the alignment of the people agenda with our business objectives. You will also collaborate with other HR Business Partners and Centres of Excellence to ensure the delivery of consistent and high-quality HR services across the organization. The role includes one direct report as a HR Business Partner (also based in the Basel office).
Implantology Business Unit (IBU) is the owner of our dental implant product category driving over 65% of global revenue. IBU leads product development, clinical research, training & education, and marketing strategy for our premium and challenger Implant brands as well as regenerative solutions across the globe. You will work closely with Head of IBU and the Leadership Team to align the Group’s business & people strategy with IBU’s overall and function-specific strategies. You would support the business predict and develop new skills and capabilities needed for the future and implement solutions to bridge potential talent and succession gaps. IBU teams are prominently represented in our Basel HQ as well as in the brand HQs in Germany and France.
Enterprise Solutions (ES) business unit is dedicated to developing long-term business partnerships with large-scale Dental Service Organizations (DSOs) across the globe. It fully leverages our brands and services across all product segments through winning business concepts and customized solutions and services to be the leading partner of choice for DSOs. The ES segment is growing rapidly in the US, EMEA, and China. You would support the ES organization to build the right competencies across all regions and markets, optimizing the org design and collaborative partnering with the regional sales organizations. ES organization includes diverse functions – regional/local sales teams, marketing & education, solution development & consulting – and the teams are spread across the globe.
Global HRLT member – reporting to the Chief People Officer, you would be a senior HR leader supporting the development of the Global People strategy and operating model. There is appetite for HR transformation and you would be an active advisor and participate in developing the vision and strategy setting, change management and implementation, always ensuring your business needs are considered and met.
The role is based full-time in Basel at least 4 days a week. Travel is expected for as needed for business activities and business reviews – estimated to be around 10% of your time (approx. 75% in Europe, 25% intercontinental).
Responsibilities
- Understand business and people needs; articulate and translate business trends, needs, and challenges and feedback to various stakeholders within and outside of the HR community.
- Provide highly responsive HR support to a fast-paced global and agile business. Act as a strategic partner, coach, mentor, and advisor to our global business leaders to enable them to deliver performance through their people in line with Straumann Group strategy, purpose, mindset, and core beliefs.
- Take ownership in global HR processes (e.g. budgeting, workforce planning, position and performance management, engagement, rewards review, talent, succession, etc.).
- Ensure implementation of Global HR solutions, initiatives & processes with strong matrix collaboration and evaluate and feedback to the global solution owners.
- Lead the implementation and further improvement of HR processes supported by digital tools to develop the department towards a more self-service organization together and in collaboration with the respective global, regional, and local HR functions.
- Act as a Transformation and Change Agent and take a leading role in further defining organizational design and set up, our Culture Journey to foster a high-performing and engaged workforce.
- Participate in and lead global projects/initiatives/programs and work closely together with the Global HR team and the regional and local HR functions.
- Drive and influence a positive employee (life) experience across all moments that matter by enabling the business leaders.
- Proactive and regular exchange with HR Leaders including best practice sharing.
Qualifications
- At least 15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR Business Partner role. Proven track record of leading the HR strategy and operations for large and complex global functions.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to translate the business objectives into the people agenda.
- Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels and become a trusted advisor to senior leadership.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders across the organization. Intellectually curious with a willingness and desire and track record of learning.
- Highly adaptable and flexible, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and change in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Broad knowledge of coaching, leadership development, and succession planning with demonstrated success in building talent pools and leadership pipelines.
- Passionate about people and culture, with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Proficient in the use of HR systems and tools (we use SAP Employee Central as our HRIS, SuccessFactors for much of our HR suite, GLINT for Engagement Surveys …), and data-driven in decision making.
- Experienced in HR transformation within a global matrix environment and skilled in working with different cultures. Also preferable would be experience working outside of HR.
