Job Title: Cyber Security Manager

Location: Fully Remote (UK Based)

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000

I am exclusively working with a top UK university that is undergoing some exciting cyber growth and as part of this growth they are looking for a cyber security manager that has experience in being a direct report however also is still technically hands-on with or has a strong technical understanding of Microsoft security stack.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of cyber security professionals to ensure the effective implementation of security measures and incident response protocols.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems to monitor and analyze security events.
• Develop and implement comprehensive cyber security strategies and policies to safeguard university systems, networks, and data.
• Be the university SME for all things cloud security & the Microsoft security stack
• Collaborate with IT teams to establish and maintain robust cloud security controls and practices.
• Stay informed about emerging cyber threats, security trends, and best practices, and provide guidance and training to team members.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in cyber security management, including leading and mentoring a team of security professionals.
• Strong expertise in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms and security event analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft security stack
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in higher education or academic environments is highly desirable.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent are advantageous.
