Job Title: Mechanical Lead – Pharmaceutical Project

About the Role:

My client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to oversee the mechanical systems for a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Munich, Germany . This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional with 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical projects , fluent in German and English , who can drive project execution, ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and EU standards , and coordinate multidisciplinary teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and coordinate all mechanical activities for the design, installation, and commissioning of HVAC, clean utilities, and process systems .
  • Technical Oversight: Manage all mechanical systems, including HVAC, purified water, WFI, clean steam, compressed air, and other critical utilities , ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards .
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure that all mechanical systems meet GMP, FDA, and EU regulatory requirements , conducting regular audits and reviews to maintain strict quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with process engineers, validation teams, and construction managers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with pharmaceutical-grade environments.
  • Budget & Schedule Management: Develop and maintain mechanical project schedules, budgets, and risk assessments, ensuring on-time and cost-effective delivery.
  • Problem-Solving & Innovation: Identify and resolve technical challenges, implementing advanced mechanical solutions for cleanrooms, sterile environments, and contamination control .
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment .

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering , or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years working on pharmaceutical projects , with strong expertise in cleanroom environments, HVAC, and process utilities .
  • Languages: Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of GMP, FDA, and EU regulations for pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in mechanical system design, installation, and commissioning , with expertise in HVAC, clean steam, purified water, and other process utilities .
  • Leadership Ability: Proven track record of leading mechanical teams on large-scale pharmaceutical construction projects .
