The Materials Synthetic Biology group led by Prof. Wilfried Weber is seeking for a
Postdoc in Engineered Living Materials, Synthetic Biology, and Microbiology (f/m/d)
in the frame of the EIC-funded consortium LoopOfFun.
Within an interdisciplinary project you will engineer micro-organisms such as filamentous fungi and yeasts for the precisely controlled programming of sustainable, engineered living materials for different applications.
Your profile:
- Doctorate (PhD) in natural sciences in the fields of microbiology (fungi), biochemistry, biomaterials, or comparable areas
- Experience in one or several of the following fields
- Handling and genetic engineering of filamentous fungi
- Synthetic biology and protein engineering
- Experience in the synthesis and characterization of (living) biohybrid materials
- Ability to work in a team, flexibility, self-organization and enjoyment of scientific exchange
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage ambitious projects with international partners.
