Senior Regional Procurement Site Buyer (F/M/X)

About the role

  • Join Solvay’s EMEA Regional Procurement team, composed of 27 people, where you’ll report to the Regional Procurement Manager as part of the site leadership team. In this role, you will lead procurement for the Rheinberg site, managing total site spend, sourcing, and tactical purchasing, while driving savings targets and continuous improvement. You will also collaborate with stakeholders to identify priorities, issues, and opportunities for cost-effective solutions. As part of this role, you will manage all sourcing & tactical purchasing activities of all goods and services required for the Rheinberg site.
  • You will be accountable for:
    • Collaborating with the site’s stakeholders to identify priorities, needs, challenges, areas for improvement, smart alternatives, and cost-effective innovation opportunities.
    • Managing total spending and achieving savings targets within your scope.
    • Overseeing the sourcing, negotiation, and management of local and regional contracts, in coordination with Category Leads.
    • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives with the support of Regional Procurement Management.
    • Enhancing procurement performance by regularly assessing client satisfaction, incorporating feedback, and driving productivity initiatives in collaboration with site management.
    • Ensuring the proper application of processes, including the use of appropriate buying channels, by all stakeholders within their scope. Implementing and monitoring compliance according to the regional and global category strategies, medium and small Capex procurement plans, policies, processes, and procedures.
    • Implementing Procurement strategies and action plans at the site based on global procurement guidance principles.
  • We offer a permanent contract with a hybrid working model, combining on-site work in Rheinberg and remote work (two to three days per week). Additionally, you will travel to different sites once a month.

About you

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two to three years of industrial experience in a plant environment and at least four to six years of experience in procurement roles.
  • Fluency in both German and English is required. Knowledge of French and Spanish is a plus. The CV must be submitted in English.
  • Strong understanding of the purchasing process and country/regional regulations.
  • Experience with digital procurement tools, such as SAP Ariba (E-auction), is advantageous.
  • Behaviors:

About the pay and benefits
Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the German base pay reasonably expected for this role is €83.000 to €104.000, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
