We are looking for a dedicated and innovative Chondrocyte Specialist with a passion for translational science and scientific mentoring to join the research and development team in Germany (greater Stuttgart area). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cell culture techniques, with a focus on primary chondrocyte culture and metabolism, and will be responsible for planning, overseeing, and executing experiments to support our research and development initiatives.
Die Aufgabe:
- Drive the development of 2D & 3D cell culture with a focus on human, cartilage derived cells to contribute to the tissue engineering program
- Design and conduct complex cell culture experiments
- Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data
- Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records
- Provide support and mentorship to scientific & research staff
- Independently explore research opportunities and drive innovation
- Prepare reports and present findings to stakeholders with various backgrounds
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including clinical and manufacturing) to advance project goals
Das Profil:
- You are a curious personality with a scientific mindset, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Acquired your PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field
- Have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in chondrocyte cell culture, preferably primary cell culture
- Your experience includes several years of postdoctoral studies or previous work experience in an industrial setting
- Are confident in mentoring, supporting and coaching associate scientists in experimental design and data analysis & interpretation
- Have experience in state-of-the-art characterization tools to analyze the quality and performance of cells
- Are proficient in sterile techniques and cell culture methodologies. Experience in antibiotic free cell culture is a plus
- Have experience in statistical analysis, data interpretation and visualization
- English: proficiency in spoken and written English is required
- German: knowledge of German is desired
You might also have:
- Experience with advanced cell culture techniques such as tissue engineering, bioprinting, 3D cultures, bioreactors, co-cultures, and organoids
- Experience with electronic lab notebooks (ELN) or laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
- Previous experience in a startup environment
