Project Manager

Piper Maddox is partnering with an exceptional commercial solar developer who is looking to expand their current scope to larger project sizes across the US. Their mission is to create energy solutions that are unique to each individual customer. They handle commercial solar panel projects in all 50 states, and do residential projects in IL, MA, MN, NH, and WI. They are looking for an experienced commercial scale Sr. Project Manager to join and build this team. This role is a brand new opportunity within the business to open a business area developing commercial scale projects between 15-100 MW.

Responsibilities:

• This is a management role, responsible for overseeing many "moving pieces" within our largest projects, and will require managing multiple projects at the same time.
• Ensures responsible parties are completing their tasks throughout the entire project.
• Coordinates with Purchasing and any subcontractors to provide materials and equipment.
• Maintains oversight of the dedicated installation crews.
• Communicating project status to the organization.
• Manage additional field personnel, other contracted partners, and Project Managers.
• Primary contact for project status and coordination with our customers.
• Create and manage the project schedule using critical path theory.
• Oversee project subcontractor and supplier relationships.
• Comprehend and manage the Company's contractual obligations.
• Prepare and execute pay applications and change orders.
• Periodically visit project sites to assist with supervision.
• Develop and maintain reports within and external to ERP.
• Oversees Commercial Project Budgets and Materials.
• Provide mentorship and training.
• Interview and hire project support roles.

Skills/Qualifications/Requirements:

• More than 3 years of Solar experience required.
• Effective problem-solving skills.

• Outstanding communication skills.
• Ability to work tactfully and effectively with managers in different departments.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge and experience in construction-related (ideally).
• Knowledge and experience in Solar are strongly desired.
• Ability to utilize spreadsheets, Salesforce, etc.
• Ability to travel, some out-of-state, and work in commercial field conditions.
• OSHA 10/30 training preferred.
• PM certification preferred.

This role is fully remote with travel to sites and headquarters and can offer a good faith salary of $100,000 to $165,000 per year + performance-based commission/bonus and full benefits.
