Our reputable energy client is looking for a Senior Environmental Analyst (Climate Change & Energy) for their Corporate HSE & Quality Department.

Primary purpose of job

  • Perform technical reviews of industrial processes, prepare engineering calculations and analysis, and manage Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) and energy inventories for its Facilities and ultimate reporting to the Sustainability team.
  • Provide technical advice addressing companywide energy efficiency and climate change issues and corporate targets in line with company's sustainability strategies, support management of its climate change projects, and assure facilities compliance.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 8 years of professional (direct/consulting/regulatory) experience in the oil and gas (O&G) industry, with experience in Climate Change, GHG mitigation, energy efficiency, compliance assessment, auditing and reporting schemes (legal, corporate and management systems compliance).
  • In-depth Knowledge of Climate Change Agreements and Laws, and carbon credit markets (Registrations, validation, and credit issuance processes).
  • Good analytical skills and thorough knowledge of implementation of environmental regulations requirements within the O&G industry.
  • Work experience in the preparation of standards, procedures, specifications and reports.
  • Skills in air quality modeling is highly desirable.
  • Work experience in preparation and implementation and follow up of emission reduction plans and programs.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and expertise using original and innovative professional approaches and techniques to strengthen internal controls.
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English language. Knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage.
  • Able to influence and motivate operational teams.
  • Strong computer skills including all MS Office packages.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and flexibility in work assignments.

Education

BSc. in Environmental Science/Engineering discipline or related subject, e.g. Chemical Engineering, preferably with Post Graduate degree/diploma in similar fields or equivalent experience.
