We are recruiting a Program Manager with agile, waterfall and data migration experience for a role with our client, a global market leader in enterprise resource management software for distributors and wholesalers.

This role will be based in either Germany or the UK.

Project description

The Program Manager will be tasked with effectively planning and executing a major data center migration program with multiple end customers of different sizes. They will also lead and control internal and supplier project managers and specialists and ensure that project goals are achieved, stakeholders are satisfied, risks are managed, and quality is maintained.

Responsibilities

1. Project Planning:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop a detailed project plan, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Establish project communication and reporting channels.

2. Project Execution

  • Coordinate and lead project teams, assigning tasks and responsibilities.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to the project plan.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide guidance and support to team members.
  • Manage project resources, including budget, personnel, and materials.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
  • Maintain stakeholder engagement and manage expectations throughout the project.

3. Project Monitoring and Control

  • Track and report project progress, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
  • Implement project change management processes to address scope changes or deviations.
  • Identify and resolve project issues, conflicts, and risks in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with project management methodologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Perform ongoing project risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.

4. Project Closure

Conduct a thorough project evaluation to assess project success and identify lessons learned. Prepare and deliver project closure reports, including final documentation and deliverables.

  • Ensure project deliverables are handed over to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Celebrate project achievements and recognize team members‘ contributions.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and provide recommendations for future improvements.

5. Leadership and Communication

  • Provide strong leadership and motivate project teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive project environment.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, team members, and senior management.
  • Facilitate decision-making processes and resolve conflicts.
  • Continuously improve project management processes and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a project manager or similar role.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, engineering) is preferred.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2) is a plus.
  • Recent experience in a Data Center Migration
  • Knowledge about; Azure, Hybrid Cloud and Cloud to Cloud migration, IBM Cloud, Security as well
    platforms like for e.g. X86 Window, Linux and IBM Power
