Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you’ll find our department, Offshore Technical Sales Management, as part of VPS Region NCE.
The Offshore Technical Sales Management department represents the offshore-oriented division of Vestas Power Solutions – Technical Sales, supporting the Northern & Central Europe region. Its primary mission is to bridge the gap between our sales business unit and the specific requirements of our customers for the central power solutions team, which oversees global product development at Vestas.

Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities as a (Lead) Technical Bid Engineer will be to ensure timely and correct responses to customer enquiries, prepare clarifications and deviations to tenders, and direct technical negotiations together with the Sales team.

  • After an intensive induction, you will be assigned to Vestas‘ sales activities for offshore
  • You are expected to take the full responsibility for the technical solution during the sales phase
  • Effectively supervise the technical value engineering of customer projects and direct technical negotiations as an important member of a Sales project team
  • Ensure timely responses to customer enquiries, prepare clarifications and deviations to tenders, as well as technical annexes and contract schedules
  • You will need to network to build relationships with the key technical stakeholders in your customers‘ organisations, promoting their requirements inside Vestas and ensuring a winning technical value proposition
  • You will be the link between the Offshore Sales organisation and VPS (Vestas Power Solutions) on your respective project(s) and topics
  • You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the market and customer business cases, as well as project-specific and general technical market requirements

Qualifications
Your qualifications include:

  • Engineering background (Electrical, Mechanical or related) combined with commercial insight/interest or commercial background with solid interest in understanding of technical aspects
  • Experience in directing technical negotiations, ideally of heavy machinery, power plant equipment or similar
  • Previous experience in wind energy or industrial plant environment would be beneficial
  • Fluency in business English both spoken and written would be required; additional Scandinavian or European languages would be advantageous

  • Solid communication skills and prior experience interacting with a variety of technical and commercial stakeholders
  • The ability to be creative, organised and collaborative with proven experience working in global and high-pressure tendering environments
  • Results-oriented, with the ability to be innovative and creative in building a technical value proposition and seeking out value optimization opportunities
  • High level of customer focus, with a holistic understanding of how technical solutions impact a business case commercially and contractually
  • Professional presentation skills with ability and competence to present to business unit management
  • Flexibility for travel across the region
