Our client is a global and development-strong diagnostics company in the north of North Rhine-Westphalia, for which we are now looking for a Global Business Development Director (m/f/d). The company employs over 150 people in Germany at two different locations and it is specialized in microbiological as well as biotechnological solutions and instruments. The product range of the company includes instruments which are used to analyze the quality of food & beverage products.
As Commercial Director you would lead a team of 5 and you would be responsible on a global level for the entire Commercial area, Sales and Marketing. This role requires international willingness to travel and some presence (a couple of days per month) in one of the offices located in the West and East of Germany.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a team of commercial professionals (regional area managers) who work towards achieving the business unit financial goals and objectives.
- Take over leadership responsibility for continuous business growth.
- Manage the business unit budget and resources to ensure effective operations.
- Develop and coordinate employee KPIs to assist in reaching profit goals.
- Work closely with sales organizations and business development partners.
- Create and implement business strategies.
- Monitor team performance and identify areas for improvement.
YOUR PROFILE
- Proven experience as a commercial leader or in similar leadership role.
- Sound sales and business development knowledge in one of the following markets: food & beverage industry or water and waste water business.
- Strong project and influence management skills to lead cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of various business disciplines: business operations, marketing and establishment and further development of a commercial organization with direct and indirect distribution.
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and engage a team of professionals.
- Ability to work in highly dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
- Highly proficient in spoken and written German and English.
