What You'll do
Moving Lightsource bp solar projects from the early/mid/late stages of development via estimating support through pre-construction due diligence and engineering into the hands of construction team members for final execution. This position has responsibilities supporting and working alongside Development, Business Development, Construction, GIS, and Engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide cost estimating support for EPC Solar Projects for development and M&A project opportunities ranging from conceptual/indicative (AACE Class 5) to Budgetary (Class 3 AACE).
- Assist in maintenance of LSbp Cost Estimating Database.
- Assist in maintenance and communication with Procurement colleagues to ensure utilization of most recent and competitive major equipment pricing in estimating efforts.
- Provide site construction feasibility analysis via desktop analysis and project site visit and reporting.
- Provide project administration and engineering support for pre-construction due diligence scopes of works.
- Assist with project administration and project engineering support for pre-construction and EPC Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
Who we're looking for
Knowledge
- Working knowledge and background understanding of basic PV solar engineering and plant design (i.e. Array Layout, Civil Layout, MV/DC wiring concepts, Structural Design, Project Sequencing).
- Understanding of project management and construction management concepts identified within PMP and other industry accepted organizations.
- Understanding of general estimating approaches and variations required to support projects at differing points in the lifecycle.
- Desire to continue developing and growing one's knowledge base and understanding of the solar industry via continued research and development of the individuals, teams, and departments knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, and/or Other applicable degrees (replaceable by requisite experience).
- Master's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or other applicable field of study (not required).
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.
Experience
- 3-5 Years of estimating and/or pre-construction support (Owner, EPC, Subcontractor).
- Field based self-perform solar construction experience (i.e. Project Engineer, QA/QC Inspector, Superintendent/Foreman).
- Experience interacting with development colleagues.
- Background in estimating, pre-construction, project management/engineering.
- Experience interacting with outside consultants and equipment vendors.
- Experience generating and processing purchase orders and invoices.

US team members receive a monthly personal phone bill reimbursement of up to $100 and a monthly commuter benefit of up to $150. Team members also receive one-time wellness and remote work allowances.
