The role:
As the Associate Director for PR & Social Media with Kao’s Global Salon Division, you will lead external communications, PR, and global social media for the Kao Salon Division brands, including Goldwell, KMS, Kerasilk, and Varis. You will manage a team of Social Media specialists to oversee our global accounts and take responsibility for devising and executing external communication and social media campaigns, underpinned by compelling content and storytelling that can build long-term brand equity. You’ll create a new strategy and nurture our Social Media communities across multiple platforms, ensuring they yield positive commercial results for multiple brands across the Salon division.
This is a permanent, full-time role that can be based with hybrid working out of any of our European offices.
What you will do:
- Devise and execute strategies for PR, social media, and influencer marketing to boost brand awareness, customer engagement, and product sales.
- Identify relevant themes and cross-media storytelling approaches to build the equity of the KSD brands, through high-quality press and social media coverage across local markets.
- Collaborate with peers to create compelling content for Kao Salon’s social media channels (encompassing Instagram, Twitter, TikTok), targeted at specific brand needs or storytelling pillars.
- Develop relevant tools (hashtag strategy, influencer guidelines, key messages, and KPIs) to drive brand consistency across the social media landscape.
- Oversee the creation of assets and find opportunities to amplify user-generated content to build strong engagement with our communities.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and new influencers and partners, working alongside PR agencies, through day-to-day content creation, studio attendance, and/or key events.
- Set clear goals for campaigns, measure ROI, and report results to brand owners and other key stakeholders.
- Hold budget responsibility for global communications (Social Media, PR, Influencer Marketing), and identify opportunities to maximize resources and results.
Your profile:
- University degree or Master’s equivalent in marketing, media, or communication.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional communications, PR, and social media/content experience, preferably within the beauty industry.
- At least 5 years‘ experience in a management role.
- Proven delivery of successful global brand and communications campaigns.
- Previous experience working with creative teams.
- Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with colleagues across the business.
- Travel required on a monthly basis to Kao offices and other European locations.
