CBM (registered as CBM Christoffel-Blindenmission Christian Blind Mission e.V.) is an international development organisation committed to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the communities of the world. Based on our Christian values and more than 100 years of professional expertise, we address poverty as a cause and a consequence of disability. We work in partnership to create an inclusive society for all.
We are looking for a Manager to expand our Eastern Mediterranean Programme. The position is a Fulltime position with 40 h/week. 2-year contract with the possibility of extension. This position is only filled locally in JORDAN, with contractual conditions of the respective country. An expatriation is not intended.
These are your responsibilities
- Responsible for strategic leadership and management of CBM's operations and programmes in Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine.
- Guide and support the grants acquisition and management effort in the team ensuring long-term health of the portfolio and achievement of annual targets.
- Line manage a Team of 6 staff based in Jordan and Germany.
- Strengthen the financial sustainability of programmes with an effective communication plan.
- Act as key contact with central functions, local partners, NGOs, UN agencies, local authorities, government authorities, donors.
- Build, maintain and diversify partnerships, alliances, and collaborations.
These are your qualifications
- Professional experience of at least 3 years in a managerial position at an international NGO or institution, with a track record of successfully designing and managing development programmes in collaboration with national partners.
- University Degree in International Development/ Public Administration/ Public Health/ Political Sciences preferred; experience in developing and managing large scale institutionally funded projects from e.g. USAID and EU preferred.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in areas such as: project, programme, budget, and resource management.
- Ability to act proactively and strategically under changing conditions to find effective and efficient solutions and see the big picture.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, social and political issues.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Arabic and English proficiency on business level is compulsory; German an advantage.
