What you will enjoy doing
As an IT Developer you will develop and maintain Linde Engineering's Advanced Process Control System (APCS) for the automation and optimization of air separation units and other plant types. You will be responsible for the IT architecture design to reflect the rapidly changing opportunities in the field of industrial IoT. Implementation of new features to APCS calculation engine with strong interaction to end-users will also be part of your role. You integrate available commercial software components, e.g. OPC server or model predictive control engines. In addition, you will support the development of web-based graphical user interfaces and their integration into backend systems. You are the second level support for software bugs and system malfunctions. Further, you are responsible for the project execution of software development projects.
What makes you great
You have a diploma, master's or PhD degree in chemical engineering, natural/computer science or a similar degree. Extensive professional experience in a similar field of work, ideally in process industry environment. Further, you have a very good experience in software architectures and a very good knowledge in at least two specified programming languages (C, C++, Python). Experience in the field of automation and process engineering is a plus, as well as experience in (agile) project management. Willingness to work in an international team with interface to computer science, process engineering and automation is also required for this role. You are competent/fluent in English and in German, both verbally and in writing.
