Operations Director

At Saint-Gobain Formula, we are looking for a Operations Director to be a part of our world-wide team and member of the Executive Team.
You will be entrusted with overseeing all operations in the manufacturing of Formula Net Plants, ensuring that all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements are not only met but continuously enhanced. The mantra is simple: “Keep everyone safe” while maintaining compliance with various stakeholders and third parties.

Saint-Gobain Formula is a leading supplier of high-performance industrial plaster and gypsum products. We aim to be the worldwide leader in the specialist gypsum and plasters industry, with leading product brands in all markets.

The role is based in Walkenried, Germany. Formula operates in the UK, Germany & France, so travelling to these sites will be required.

What are your key responsibilities:

• Customer-Centric Manufacturing: Ensure that customer demands are met efficiently, delivering the required quality and services.
• Operational Excellence: Drive operations towards excellence and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Leadership and Development: Lead, develop, and coach the Operations team, collaborating closely with the Managing Director (MD), Executive (EXEC) team, and all Saint-Gobain Formula employees on their collective journey.
• Visionary Leadership: Shape the vision of the Operations function, encompassing raw materials, production, engineering, and supply chain, aligning with Saint-Gobain Formula’s purpose of “Formulate together brighter futures” and Saint-Gobain’s mission of “Making the world a better home.”
• Strategic Risk Management: Identify risks and opportunities for Saint-Gobain Formula, define and execute strategies to achieve the vision, and drive sustainable success.
• Cultural Champion: Advocate for Trust, Empowerment, and Collaboration across the company, recognizing Saint-Gobain Formula’s rich history of international partnerships over the past 25 years.

Is this job for you?

What we’re looking for:

• Proven track record in a senior operations leadership role, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, or technical environment.
• Strong expertise in operational excellence, lean manufacturing, and process optimization.
• Experience leading large teams and managing complex projects across multiple sites or regions.
• Hands-on approach with a strong ability to balance strategic leadership with operational execution.
• Ability to drive change, implement new systems, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data-driven decision-making.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels.
• International mindset, with experience managing global operations and supply chains.
• Languages: German / English and French preferred.
• Driving License: Required (International travel necessary).
