Our client, an internationally expanding company with a strong presence in the Medtech sector, is seeking an experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to strengthen its finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and optimizing internal processes. Senior General Ledger Accountant Responsibilities:

1. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in collaboration with the General Ledger team.
2. Maintain compliance with IFRS, HGB, and internal policies, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
3. Analyze and assess valuation rules and options under IFRS and HGB to support financial reporting.
4. Oversee and reconcile key general ledger accounts, including provisions, prepayments, advances, and asset accounting.
5. Manage intercompany reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in cross-entity transactions.
6. Prepare detailed reports and financial analyses to support closing processes and strategic decision-making.
7. Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, auditors, external consultants, and regulatory authorities.
8. Provide expert guidance to subsidiary ledger teams (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking, etc.).
9. Take ownership of designated areas in the annual audit process, ensuring smooth execution.
10. Drive the optimization and automation of accounting processes and financial systems to enhance efficiency.
11. Lead or contribute to internal finance and accounting projects, improving workflow and reporting accuracy.

Senior General Ledger Accountant Requirements:

1. Qualified accountant (f/m/d) or a comparable certification.
2. 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial reporting roles.
3. Strong understanding of German tax laws, HGB, and GoBD, with expertise in IFRS accounting.
4. Proficient in ERP and accounting systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Workday, or DATEV.
5. Experience with digital accounting tools and automation-driven financial solutions.
6. Analytical thinker with the ability to interpret and manage complex financial data.
7. Detail-oriented, with a structured and precise approach to financial processes.
8. Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
9. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and advise stakeholders.
10. Self-motivated, independent, and able to take ownership of responsibilities.
11. Experience in project management and process optimization is an advantage.
12. Fluency in German and English (written and spoken).
