Clinical Therapists with National Youth Advocate Program provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and stabilization services to clients referred by Special Mental Health Rehab Facility. As a Clinical Therapist, you will provide supportive services that are designed to prevent mental and behavioral health crises and mitigate adverse health outcomes. This position works closely with external agencies and community partners, providing advocacy and support toward the ultimate goal of living safely and successfully in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage the individual and their support and treatment providers in the CMPT process and plan development.
  • Participate in the development of safety and crisis management plans to assist individuals in maintaining personal safety and those around them.
  • Utilize evidence-based treatment modalities to improve outcomes.
  • Reassess safety and provide referrals for behavioral health and other needed services.
  • Complete all follow-up care and home visits within the required time limits.
  • Prepare, maintain and secure written reports that contain confidential clinical material, in compliance with state and federal privacy.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MSW or MaCC; or a Master's related human services field from a CSWE accredited college or university.
  • Has an active Illinois state license in the following areas: LSW, LCSW, LPCC, and/or LMFT.
  • Two (2) years experience in mental health or human services.
  • Knowledge of theories and frameworks related to Structural Violence; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Institutional Racism; or Mental Health.
  • Previous experience in crisis response, substance abuse, juvenile justice, or equivalent.
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines, and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.

Other Skills

  • Administrative and supervisory experience, leadership, community engagement, activism.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations of social services, mental health, and children and families, crisis response, and substance abuse; preferred.

Driving and Vehicle Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Reliable personal transportation.
  • Good driving record.
  • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability.
