Business Partner – IP & Commercial

Location: Berlin or Lower Saxony

We are seeking an IP Business Partner to serve as the primary contact for all intellectual property matters and strategies within a growing business sector. This role provides strategic IP leadership, supporting research, development, and commercial teams to maximise value through IP protection and business-oriented solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide IP guidance and strategy development, aligning intellectual property initiatives with business and research objectives.
• Identify new business opportunities and implement holistic IP strategies that foster value creation.
• Manage patent filings, prosecution, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) assessments worldwide.
• Represent the company in post-grant proceedings, including oppositions and litigation.
• Support collaborations, licensing agreements, and M&A activities, ensuring the company’s IP interests are protected.
• Maintain and oversee cost-effective global partnerships with external IP counsels.

Your Profile:

• PhD or equivalent in Life Sciences, Food Science, Biology, or a related field.
• Extensive experience as a European Patent Attorney in a corporate or international law firm setting.
• Additional qualifications for representation before the Unitary Patent Court are advantageous.
• Strong customer orientation and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex IP concepts for business stakeholders.
• Fluent in English and German (written and spoken).
