Summary
Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) are a team of field-based, highly trained professionals with strong clinical and/or scientific backgrounds and excellent communication skills. They represent the Medical Affairs organization to the broad medical/scientific community. The candidate for this position will be responsible for facilitating and developing relationships with the medical/scientific community by communicating product-related clinical and scientific information to physicians, investigators, institutions, cooperative groups, formulary committees and other healthcare professionals. The MSL will provide information on research developments and new concepts in medical treatment/management, while providing perspective to medical/scientific field activities associated with Incyte IAI drugs both licensed as well as those in clinical development. They represent the Medical Affairs organization to the broad medical/scientific community. Travel is required and will likely be up to 65%.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead Key External Experts and investigators engagement plans – identify, develop, and maintain long-term collaborative relationships with experts, key investigators and scientific bodies to facilitate scientific exchange and potential research collaborations
  • Represent the company and lead medical & scientific exchanges within the respective community
  • Discuss scientific data on Incyte IAI drugs with all relevant stakeholders (for example, dermatologists and where appropriate, pharmacists) and gather and provide to the team insights that are directly applicable to Incyte IAI therapeutics and that may influence present and future strategic choices
  • Closely cooperate and align with KAM-team and Market Access-team for all activities related to medical information for external groups
  • Act as point of contact for unsolicited information requests on company inline products and pipeline.
  • Facilitate company sponsored and investigator initiated research (IIRs). Provide frequent updates on investigative site support by updating medical/clinical teams with feedback and insights from interactions and discussions with experts and investigators
  • Provide medical/scientific leadership and expertise to internal and external groups. Conduct internal trainings on medically relevant topics
  • Identify and nominate experts as potential speakers and ensure they are up to date on new clinical data and findings
  • Identifies and communicates key clinical and research issues from industry leaders to appropriate departments to help shape company research, development, marketing plans and strategies
  • Represent the company at medical meetings through Medical Affairs‘ Scientific Booth coverage and other related activities
  • Lead and support advisory board meetings, round table meetings and investigator meetings
  • Ensure up to date knowledge of the latest relevant research and publications applicable to the IAI areas of therapeutic research
  • Works with Incyte colleagues, both medical, commercial and where relevant market access, in a collaborative manner and in compliance with company SOPs and any other local regulatory/legal guidelines
  • Adhere to corporate SOPs and ensure vigilant compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and guidelines governing scientific interactions with physicians and healthcare professionals across all activities
  • Share best practice experiences with fellow MSLs and
  • Capture and record interactions with HCPs in the relevant Incyte management system
  • Embrace and demonstrate the Incyte Corporate Values
  • Contribute positively to a strong culture of business integrity and ethics

Requirements

  • German and very good English language knowledge
  • An advanced clinical degree required (e.g. PharmD, PhD, or MD – other doctoral degrees may be considered)
  • Experience in the area of dermatology strongly preferred
  • Previous experience as MSL or other medical function preferred
  • Field experience is a plus
  • Must be highly articulate and self-confident during formal and informal presentations; able to convey complex, scientific ideas fluently to any audience
  • Flexibility, diplomacy, and ability to manage expectations
  • Problem solving and entrepreneurial skills
  • Ability to travel frequently (up to 65%) with some overnight stays (e.g. expert visits, internal Incyte meetings, medical meetings and congresses, and training meetings)
