Rates Trading

Our team provides a platform that allows post trade processing of mainly commodity securities, to support groups from Trading and Structuring to Operations under the Rates & Credit Trading desk activities. We are in the middle of transforming our processes to make it easier and cheaper to maintain by implementing new functionality on our strategic global platform. Therefore, we are looking for motivated developers with a passion for agile practices to join our team. Currently we are looking for an enthusiastic full-stack developer to join our team, working on a business-critical platform built in Java in the backend and React/Typescript in the frontend.

The current technical stack includes Java, Kotlin, React, TypeScript REST web services, Oracle, GCP. We value working with the business to create a product with long-term value and writing robust, simple and well-tested software.

Your key responsibilities

• Design & deliver features both frontend and backend into production.
• Collaborative; enthusiastic to contribute ideas on team development practices.
• Working with the business and BAs on functional and non-functional requirements, technical analysis and design
• Contributing to technical/architectural direction and choice of technologies
• Willingness to understand business domain, work with business users / stakeholders.
• Involvement in release planning, testing strategies, and some 3rd-line support.

Your skills and experiences

• A proven track record of developing client-side and/or server-side development in Web/Java.
• Expert knowledge and understanding of core Java (collections, multi-threading, etc.)
• Extensive experience of Web UI Development, preferably React/TypeScript but would also consider general Javascript, Angular, HTML etc.
• Knowledge of testing tools such as Jest/Cucumbers.
• Experience working with agile development practices, with a good knowledge of tools to facilitate agile delivery such as Git, Jenkins, TeamCity.
• Technical analysis and system development experience within a financial institution preferred.
• An understanding of trade lifecycle and functions from Front Office to downstream processes, including knowledge of commodities, exotic and/or indices is a bonus.
