POSITION SUMMARY:

This role plays a pivotal part in championing the Milk Value Platform (MVP) implementation and education, equipping all plant employees with essential tools and knowledge. Together, we will cultivate a zero-loss work culture that prioritizes safety and product quality. By providing inspiring leadership, this position will engage our team in advancing through the MVP phases, ensuring we meet our improvement objectives. Our ultimate goal is to fully integrate MVP across the organization, paving the way for “World-Class” operations and a bright future for our workforce and products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with site leadership to drive improvement in all KPI measurements utilizing Focused Improvement, AM, UAM, and other MVP tools and processes.
  • Create and maintain robust plant communication tools and processes across the facility for all MVP activity including daily review boards, measurement boards, team progress boards and charts, etc.
  • Facilitate the development of the annual MVP work plans.
  • Partner with the site Trainer to identify MVP training needs for the plant and to deliver training solutions on MVP tools and processes.
  • Ensure all plant employees have opportunities for engagement and ownership in MVP programs and activities.
  • Act as the champion and subject matter expert for Root Cause Analysis.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Early Management processes and tools.
  • Partner with Operations to sustain daily review and communication process through continual coaching and auditing.
  • Champion One Right Way initiatives, including education, center lining and rate-lock, standard work documents, and systems.
  • Personally lead teams utilizing MVP processes.
  • Provide leadership and direction to all employees through direct and indirect leadership and coaching.
  • Ensure the development of troubleshooting capabilities with all operators and maintenance personnel.
  • Partner with the Maintenance Department to develop preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Work with the plant Safety team to ensure complete application and measurement of MVP tools.
  • Be available to work any time (i.e., nights and weekends) as required for trials and projects.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Required: A Bachelor\’s degree from a four-year college or university, OR a minimum of five years of related experience and/or training, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • A good understanding of Continuous Improvement/TPM methodology.
  • Experience managing multiple locations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in or knowledge of various computer software applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective prioritizing, organizing, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to achieve defined goals on time.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.
  • Experience solving problems, analyzing and highlighting relevant information.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional ascending and/or descending of ladders and stairs.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
  • Repetitive motions: Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time on concrete.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward.
  • Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.
  • Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force.
  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward.
  • Lifting: Able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • The worker is subject to both environmental conditions.
  • There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout.

Equipment knowledge:

  • Separators, UF, RO, NF Membrane systems, HTST, Evaporators, Dryers, Bagging and Bulk bagging equipment, Palletizer, Scales, CIP Systems, Miscellaneous Manufacturing Equipment.
