Who You'll Work With

The Professional Development Team oversees the development, coaching and guiding of our consultants throughout their career journey at McKinsey. Within our practice, these consultants include experienced hires and consultants who developed an expertise and focus on Growth, Marketing and Sales (GM&S) across all our European locations. The GM&S practice and our consultants help clients across all industries to grow by transforming their marketing and sales capabilities. You will be closely working with eight very open-minded colleagues with a great passion for people topics. Our team sits across Germany, Spain, Poland and Portugal. We work mostly remote but also appreciate the ability to meet in one of our offices or for a team event to connect, mingle and learn from each other every now and then. In addition to working with us as your core team, you will have the opportunity to work with and support other Professional Development teams and student workers from other industries and functional practices in Europe.

What You'll Do

You will support our Professional Development team in their daily and strategic responsibilities of assisting and mentoring our consultants. Tasks you will do involve for example reviewing and adjusting satisfaction surveys, creating newsletters for the consultants, preparing reports to our leadership and updating and analyzing people data. Furthermore, you will assist in delivering priority topics of our people agenda like diversity, sponsorship and connectivity. You'll have the opportunity to gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. As a student worker you will receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues around you. You are expected to work around 20 hours weekly during regular working hours with half or full days and flexibility from our end.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor or Masters degree with a focus or high interest in people topics (like business administration, social sciences, psychology)
  • Enjoying to work collaboratively in an international team environment being capable to handle multiple asks in parallel by prioritizing and communicating effectively what you plan to do
  • Diligent and highly reliable in your work, as well as eager to learn
  • Strong in analytical and creative thinking, proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Fluent in English - both verbally and in writing
  • Keen to commit to at least 12 months with us
