Job Highlights

The Plant Engineer is responsible for supporting site Engineering Superintendent for all engineering and HSEQ tasks.  Bring strong technical, analytical, problem solving, documentation and communication skills to the site management team and support goal attainment and continuous improvement throughout the site. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Design, specify, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve equipment, tooling, and processes for safety, compliance, and reliability.
  • Lead contractors and maintenance crafts team for projects, preventive maintenance, and repairs, ensuring optimal uptime.
  • Coordinate and maintain environmental programs including Hazardous Waste, SPCC, SWPPP, air registration and waste reduction.
  • Assist in developing and implementing capital and expense projects, budgets, and timelines within LANXESS directives and RAGAP.
  • Support process safety including process hazard analysis, management of change, design safety reviews, etc.  
  • Analyze and report data and KPI’s.  Monitor trends and proactively coordinate course corrections.  
  • Author documents, procedures, and maintenance plans. Maintain accurate records. Train employees in procedures and safety.
  • Support product quality, scrap reduction, customer complaint response, ISO9001/RC14001 compliance, and all audits.
  • Maintain current knowledge of engineering principles, industry standards, and working plant processes for HSEQ risk reduction.
  • Actively supports LANXESS values and HSEQ goals. Participates in teams, and other duties as required.

Requirements

  • BS Engineering Required. Relevant work experience either as an employee or intern preferred.  
  • Analytical, technical, time management, problem solving, independent thinking, and professional communication skills.
  • Strong computer and technology skills including Excel, Powerpoint, and Word. Programming, PLC, or robotics a plus.  
  • Mechanical aptitude and design skills, AutoCAD preferred. 
  • Prior leadership experience desired. 
  • Heath, safety and environmental compliance principles. Machinery safety studies or process hazard analysis a plus.

  • Compensation: We offer competitive compensation packages, inclusive of a global bonus program and an individual performance bonus program. The established pay range for this position is $72,800 to $97,000 depending on experience. Please note, the actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
