It serves as a catalyst for innovative and creative scholarship and new forms of public dissemination.The newly created „Chaire Histoire & Migrations\“ of the University of Luxemburg funded and supported by the City of Dudelange undertakes teaching, research and outreach activities relating to history and migration in Luxembourg and the Greater Region.About the role…The Postdoc will be a member of the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH) at the University of Luxembourg. He/She will work under supervision of Associate Prof. Dr. Denis Scuto. He/She will conduct methodologically innovative, data-driven research in field of Migration in Contemporary History of Luxembourg and the Greater Region and actively contribute to historical expertise on migration studies in Luxembourg. The Postdoctoral Researcher will also produce research outputs. The collected materials and the research undertaken will form the basis for defining the next stages of the work to be carried out.As a postdoctoral researcher, you will:Conduct research on the history of migration in Luxembourg and the Greater Region, focusing on a longitudinal study of migrants\‘ life historiesWrite short articles for the publication Itinéraires croisés bis: Étrangers au Luxembourg, Luxembourgeois à l\’étrangerCoordinate a monthly newsletter on migration studiesContribute to the development of a traveling exhibition on the migration history of Luxembourg and the Greater RegionActively collaborate with the C²DH, the Centre de Documentation sur les Migrations Humaines (Dudelange), and the City of DudelangeParticipate in outreach activities, including workshops, conferences, training sessions, and teachingFor further information please contact: Your profile…PhD in history, or alternatively a PhD in humanities or social sciences with experience in conducting historical researchFluency in two languages is required (English and French or German); in addition, advanced knowledge in a third language is requiredGood digital literacyAbility to meet deadlines and demonstrate methodological, organized, pragmatic, and effective approaches to your work in collaboration with partnersAdvantageous: Research profile in the fields of Migration in Contemporary History and Public History (knowledge of museal concepts)Advantageous: Experience in collaboration with non-academic stakeholdersAdvantageous: Experience in organizing scientific events for a broad audience In return you will get…Multilingual and international character.
