About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Manager – Infrastructure/Applications to join our team in Bremen. In this key position, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing IT solutions in a demanding and dynamic defence environment. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and excellent project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conception of IT solutions and their implementation (including acceptance) in the assigned focus area, often taking into account customer project-specific requirements
• Ensuring the functionality of all tools and systems in the area of responsibility
• Determining requirements and advising the specialist departments and projects, including needs-based
• Designing individual solutions if necessary
• Creation of specifications and guidelines (e.g. for service providers, users or administrators)
• Project manager for IT projects in the area of responsibility, including system maintenance and operational implementation
• Creation of process descriptions and their implementation, taking into account the framework conditions specified by the IT
• Market analysis and observation with regard to innovative topics and forward-looking trends in the area of responsibility
• Collaboration or, if necessary, leading IT committees and corresponding meetings
• Managing service providers and ensuring compliance with SLAs and KPIs
• Monitoring and maintaining central systems in the area of requirements engineering (server, software and subcomponents)
• Advice on the selection and use of various tools, features and possible applications of engineering applications
• Independent processing of support requests from employees, customers and development
• Creation of system documentation and instructions
• Collaboration on IT projects, including cross-departmental projects; sub-project responsibility
• Programming and development of scripts within IBM Rational DOORS (9.6 and DNG) and IBM Rational Publishing Engine
• Support in the design, setup, maintenance and further development of IBM Rational DOORS (9.6 and DNG) and IBM Rational Publishing Engine

Requirements:

• Bachelor\’s degree in computer science or training with several years of professional experience
• Specialized training in the relevant focus area (infrastructure/applications)
• Good written and spoken English skills
• Technical and development experience with IBM Rational DOORS (9.6 and DNG) and IBM Rational Publishing Engine
• Good written and spoken English / German skills
• Independent and autonomous way of working
• Communication and team skills as well as outstanding analytical skills
• Strong presentation skills and confident demeanor
• High level of commitment and flexibility
• Willingness to travel worldwide
