Summary / Role Purpose

The R&D Verification Engineer (m/f/d) joins the SMPBU to conduct software testing of ANSYS applications such as cloud and desktop-based simulation toolchain primarily used in autonomous driving V&V. This role helps to assess how well the product meets customer needs both in terms of functionality and usability and ensures that product requirements and quality standards are satisfied as per the company’s quality procedures. The individual works closely with other members of the product creation team and communicates with technical specialists on product issues. In this position, the engineer contributes to the quality of tools that are used throughout the industry to make sure that cars, airplanes, and other complex systems are safe and secure in an ever-changing world by applying industry standards such as ISO 26262, ASPICE, IEC 61508, ARP 4761, or ISO 21448.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform functional and regression testing in manual and/or automated test environments and verify defect fixes
2. Write software defect reports and enhancement requests
3. Apply standard techniques and procedures and comply with the company\’s overall development and testing processes
4. Work in a variety of computing environments: Windows, Linux, AWS, Azure, Any programming or scripting language – C++/Python/..
5. Work closely with product owners, documentation and development in an agile environment.
6. Support the team in following the Ansys software development life cycle
7. Analyze defect reports from customers

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

1. BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

1. Strong knowledge of Agile, test-driven development, DevOps practices, and cloud-based software testing.
2. Experience with Automotive and/or Aerospace industry-standard software testing tools and techniques
3. Familiarity with ASPICE and ISO26262 standards or related Aerospace standards.
4. Experience with Automotive/Aerospace engineering.
5. Basic understanding of software testing and verification processes
6. Good communication and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
8. Experience with SCRUM methodology
9. Fluent English, both written and spoken. German and/or French language skill is a plus.
