The Tesla Direct Procurement team is looking to hire a skilled Supply Chain Manager to support the purchasing process for chassis components. You are involved in the development process for new products from an early stage, and you are the link between external suppliers and internal customers. You work closely with the Supply Chain Managers in the US and can develop your commodity strategy in alignment with all stakeholders. You are also the reference person for the Engineering and Material Planning teams on the product groups you manage.
This contract will have a fixed term of 1 year.
What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for selecting suppliers and carrying out contract negotiations, focusing on global commodity strategy, quality, specification, price, and reliability of supply.
- Ensure supplier readiness before SOP and during ramp-up.
- Evaluate supplier business proposals and present recommendations that will result in cost savings, avoidance, or containment.
- Evaluate and guide final selection of suppliers; perform value analysis for the final selection of suppliers.
- Based on key performance indicators, demand continuous improvement from your suppliers.
- Strive to involve suppliers as early as possible in our development processes.
- Continuously undertake market research and benchmarking to benefit from new trends in the global supplier market.
- Work collaboratively on a cross-functional level with other departments like engineering, supplier industrialization, quality, and many more.
- Manage new supplier introduction and management.
- Manage commodity accounts at the operational level, supporting the continuity of Tesla manufacturing.
What You’ll Bring:
- Availability to fulfill a fixed-term contract of 12 months.
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience with the functions mentioned in the scope.
- Hold a valid work permit for Germany.
- You possess a higher vocational or university qualification in a subject such as automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, or business management, or equivalent experience.
- Specific diploma in Supply Chain/Purchasing is preferred.
- Automotive experience preferred but not mandatory.
- You are fluent in English; German is a plus.
