We are currently seeking a Technical Project Manager based in Europe who specializes in Machine Translation .

As an MT Technical Project Manager at Milengo, you are part of the Product Management Team and help apply the Milengo Products in our international client projects.

Tasks

Your responsibilities:

1. Application and improvement of machine translation processes:

1. Deploy MT-based services for all relevant accounts and projects.
2. Perform MT evaluations in collaboration with the relevant production teams to expand the company\’s scope of languages according to customer demand.
3. Refine existing machine translation processes including engine selection based on new language combinations.
4. Perform MT quality assurance checks after project completion to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
5. Ensure the language combinations greenlit for machine translation are up to date in Milengo\’s project management platform.

1. Keep up to date with the latest industry developments.
2. Assess the suitability of new MT engines and processes for implementation in production.

1. Develop new approaches together with the Engineering team to enhance and refine the MT customization process.
2. Prepare and manage the MT data required to build customized engines (industry or client-specific).
3. Update MT documentation and communicate changes to stakeholders.
4. Organize and support trainings for sales and production teams on MT-based project workflows.

Requirements

• Degree in Linguistics, Translation Studies, Computer Science, Software Development, Engineering, or similar.
• Deep understanding of the principles and technologies of machine translation including familiarity with the most common tools and platforms.
• Practical experience and skills in CAT tools, particularly memoQ.
• Proven track record with post-editing processes and quality assurance in machine translation.
• Practical programming or software development knowledge to support the integration of machine translation into existing systems.
• Ability to analyze translation data and assess the performance of machine translation solutions to continuously improve products and processes.
• Understanding of cultural differences and their impact on translation and localization.
