The Computer Centre of Bremen University of Applied Sciences provides the central information technologies for all university departments and is the partner for digitization within the university. As a central operating unit, it operates the campus data network, the central server services as well as the university\’s identity management and campus management. The particular challenge lies in the reliable provision of central infrastructure for a large and heterogeneous user group. The computer center is characterized by a cooperative approach to solving complex tasks. The Server and Basic Services department, as one of four areas of the data center, operates the central Linux and Windows servers and offers basic services such as e-mail and Active Directory. In order to be prepared for future challenges, we look forward to your support.

YOUR TASK AREA

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU for the server and network area including:

• Further development of the central basic services of Bremen University of Applied Sciences, such as e-mail and server systems.
• Support in planning work for the renewal and adaptation of the data network of the Bremen University of Applied Sciences.

YOUR PROFILE

YOU BRING FOR AN EMPLOYMENT IN THE SERVER AND NETWORK AREA WITH:

• A (shortly) completed university degree (Bachelor/FH diploma) in the field of computer science or in a comparable course of study or a completed training as an IT specialist (f/m/d) with several years of professional experience.
• Sound knowledge and confident handling of Linux operating systems (installation and configurations) and in virtualization environments.
• Knowledge of the Python programming language.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure.
• Knowledge of DNS, API, Ansible and version management would be desirable.
