This position is part of our newly established Deutz Defense Systems organization and offers the exciting opportunity to actively shape and further develop this forward-looking business area.

What you can expect from us:

Customer-Oriented Engineering & Solution Development

1. Primary contact for technical customer requirements and feedback from the Customer Success teams
2. Ensure the development and delivery of fast, reliable, and practical technical solutions through regional application teams
3. Guarantee that technical solutions are economically viable, feasible, and strategically aligned

Project Prioritization & Execution

1. Act as the interface between the Business Unit, central R&D, and Project Management to effectively prioritize technical projects
2. Align development initiatives with strategic business goals and customer needs
3. Manage external engineering service providers when internal resources are insufficient to meet deadlines
4. Ensure technical projects are delivered on time and within budget

Product Portfolio Development & Technical Strategy

1. Drive the technical evolution of the product portfolio based on customer feedback
2. Ensure technological advancements align with the long-term strategy of the Business Unit
3. Promote new technologies and innovations to strengthen competitiveness
4. Collaborate closely with Sales, Strategy, and R&D to identify new product opportunities

Leadership & Management of Regional Application Teams

1. Lead and develop regional engineering teams with a focus on resources, tools, and expertise
2. Foster a collaborative, customer-focused engineering culture
3. Ensure technical teams effectively support customers with product integration, troubleshooting, and technical inquiries

What sets you apart:

1. Several years of experience in a senior technical role, ideally in the (defense) industry
2. In-depth technical expertise as well as experience in product development and project management
3. Strategic and solution-oriented mindset with a strong customer focus
4. Proven experience in leading and developing technical teams
5. Ability to collaborate across functions, including Sales, Strategy, and R&D
6. Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
