About The Role

The Senior Pricing Actuary reports to the Lead Actuary Property EMEA, Energy, APAC within the Actuarial Portfolio Management (APM) Unit. Your role involves executing portfolio goals using data-driven techniques, developing business understanding, and communicating analysis findings to global partners. You will use actuarial methods to develop insights into portfolios and trends, setting costing parameters for our proprietary property costing model to enhance accuracy and predictability. Your work will directly influence portfolio profitability and overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review complex case pricings and communicate outcomes to stakeholders including Underwriters, Reserving Actuaries, Finance, and Portfolio leaders.
- Lead quarterly profitability analyses of the portfolio employing actuarial and data techniques.
- Build technical insight capabilities to optimize financial performance and profitability views across sub-portfolios.
- Analyze portfolios and sub-portfolios through data slicing and statistical analysis to derive insights.
- Communicate results effectively to Portfolio Managers, Reserving Actuaries, and Finance departments.
- Work on rate review projects to update costing parameters for Swiss Re’s proprietary property model.
- Lead projects to enhance and develop models for newer perils.
- Lead data pipeline, transformation, and analysis workstreams for portfolio analytics and model improvements.
- Steer yearly planning exercises and provide actuarial input for the portfolio.

About The Team
Our global team of qualified and student Actuaries is spread across Bangalore, Munich, Zurich, Manchester, London, New York, Windsor, and Kansas City. We manage Swiss Re’s largest portfolio for CorSo, reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO). About You
We seek an ambitious, trustworthy, enthusiastic team player eager to advance their actuarial career. You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to convey complex ideas effectively. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, proactive, and goal-oriented, with:
- Bachelor\’s degree in a Quantitative/Numerical subject from a recognized university
- Over 8 years of experience in an actuarial role, preferably in Property or short-tail London Market businesses
- Qualified Actuary or qualified by experience
- Strong skills in MS Excel, and programming in R/Python or SQL
- High numeracy, attention to detail, and a data-driven mindset
- Open-minded, curious, and committed to continuous learning
- Strong teamwork skills and global collaboration experience
Role & Compensation
For Germany, the salary range is between 95,000 and 158,000 EUR annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Swiss Re offers performance-based bonuses and various benefits, subject to policy and contract terms.
